Who am I?
My name is Dan Seidler. SEID, like “side”.
I’m the creator behind SEID Projects: a music and storytelling experience built on one core belief - Self Expression Inspires Drive.
This isn’t about me. It’s about creating something that resonates with anyone bold enough to chase their own rhythm. But since you’re here, you deserve to know who’s behind the spark.
I’m a songwriter, bassist, and creative explorer. I believe in the power of collaboration - and I’d love to connect with you.
I write the music and lyrics, play and record bass and guitar, program midi drums, mix, produce, write the story lore, as well as manage the social media accounts and website. I have outsourced the vocals, mastering, logo drafting, and 3D character modeling. I use graphic design tools, currently including AI to create visuals, but I’d love to work with talent to create something unique.
I am open to partnering with others with audio, video, art, creative writing, merchandising, social media, marketing, syncing opportunities, and anything special that you may bring.
If what I’m building speaks to you, maybe it’s time we built something together.

I was introduced to the music of Metallica in 1993. It was then that my ear locked in with the bass guitar. I was able to try a bass at a music store in the mall and I fell in love. My mother remarried in 1994 and one of my step-brothers is a bass player. He sold me one of his basses. The following year, I was in a rock band called Sister Whiskey. We wrote originals and played covers.

Something about steampunk just appeals to me. The movie “Wild Wild West” is a lot of fun to watch. The Dwarven ruins and technology from the video game Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim also hit the mark.

Until recently, every song I have written started with a bassline. On the Palindrome Tone album, there is one song that was written on guitar first. The next album will have several songs written by guitar first.

My first band, in 1994 was called Sister Whiskey. We wrote an entire album worth of material, but we disbanded before recording. I’ve been in many bands since, including cover bands in the genres of blues rock, hard rock, metal, alternative, and country rock. A cool project was with a 4-piece, including an electric harp, drums, bass, and female vocals. I was also a Sound Tech for a cover band called Timeline. The last band I was in, We Inertia, out of San Antonio, TX released an album after I left, with several songs I cowrote. I’m honored to say that we opened for Candlebox, which was my final gig with them.

SEID Projects started as simply half my last name. Then one night, I was having dinner with a few clients (my full time engineering job), and I had the opportunity to talk about SEID Projects. I realized how energetic I became as we discussed my passion project. I also worked on the first album without any other musicians (except outsourcing vocals to a Studio Vocalist) because it was not a good time for each of them (life happens). I realized that Self Expression Inspires Drive, which became my motto and what SEID stands for. I want to collaborate with others and give them a platform to express themselves through their craft.

The first album, Palindrome Tone was almost completely created by me. I outsourced the vocals, 3D modeling of the characters, and mastering. As a previous Sound Tech, I did the mixing. I was attempting to learn 3D animation and I was going to create the music videos via 3D animation, but my passion is in writing music, not animation. It was then suggested that I create the music videos with AI software. I prefer to work with Artists, and I’ll most likely still use AI to storyboard the next album. But the final version, I hope to work with visual artists.

As a 90's kid I was influenced by Metallica and grunge. When I heard Master of Puppets, I knew I wanted to play the bass guitar. Cliff Burton had a sound all of his own and listening to his playing sparked this energy that I could not explain. I realized I could only express my true feelings through my music. Self-taught since 1994, I learned blues scales, joined Jazz Band in high school, and began studying Jason Newsted (Metallica), Geddy Lee (RUSH), Les Claypool (Primus), Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne), Tim Commerford (RATM), Dave Ellefson (Megadeth), Justin Chancellor (TOOL), and Robert DeLeo (STP) as they became a few of my influences.

I simply want to write music. I would love to collaborate with musicians and visual artists. SEID Projects is about creating a platform where Artists can express themselves. My hope is that the audience can take away the positive messaging within the stories and lyrics. And I hope to find my coffee-loving tribe!

The second album, “Clockwright Chronicles.” This album continues the story of our beloved characters as the Harmonic Mechanic reads the book he acquires later in the story from the first album. Besides the story, I hope to find and collaborate with musicians, artists, social media specialists, and marketers, so I am not doing all the work for the second album. I’d also love to collaborate with others in providing songwriting and bass playing services on their projects. And finally, I’d be open to syncing opportunities.

My passions are music, travel, and health & fitness. I don’t consider myself a tourist, but rather a traveler. I love being immersed in new cultures, environments, and cuisine. I enjoy cruises, while simply enjoying a little digital detox and open waters. Regarding health & fitness, I was once a personal trainer, but have also battled an autoimmune disorder, in which I found myself severely overweight. I now work out five days a week in my home gym, and I am much more conscious with my diet.
