Spector Legend 4 Neck-Thru

In the early 2000’s I was on a mission to find the right bass for me. I probably visited 40 music stores and tried every model of bass I could get my hands on. One day, in Coopersburg, PA, there was this gorgeous, emerald green Spector Euro 4 bass from the late 90s. It felt and sounded just right. I’ve been a Spector bass player ever since. This bass, the Legend 4 Neck-Thru, has upgraded electronics: LHZ-04 preamp and EMG X active PJ pickups.

Fender Stratocastor (MIM)

When I decided to pick up the guitar, it was suggested that I could not go wrong with a Fender Stratocastor. I found this Made-in-Mexico Strat on Reverb. The seller upgraded the electronics and pickguard. As a bass player, I wasn’t too particular. It gets the job done!

I’ve been using PreSonus’ Studio One Digital Audio Workstation for well over fifteen years. I just find it easy and intuitive. I can also easily add plugins.

Toontrack EZDrummer 3

This plugin provides realistic-sounding drum beats. They offer tons of add-ons. Plus, the Bandmate feature allows me to drag & drop a guitar/bass line and then it provides beats that fit. Once I drop the midi track into the song, I can then further manipulate the midi beat via the piano roll.

I no longer need to take a copy of a song into the car for testing. The VSX system provides over a dozen environments to help listen for frequencies that don’t come through in the mix, in those environments. As tinny as a song can be on a cell phone speaker, at least now the bassline can be heard.

Fiverr

I outsourced all vocals on the Palindrome Tone album through Fiverr. The SEID Projects logo, Echo, Jynx, Rivet, and the Harmonic Mechanic’s clothing were also outsourced through Fiverr. I also utilized mastering services. I did have challenges with two 3D modeling vendors, but it all worked out in the end. Fiverr allows me to focus on the music.
